Check your java version and make sure to have some java 6 or newer version.
Then install the asian languages support : from the windows start
button, select system
-> region
and language options
-> extended
and pick up the fonts you want (it may help to install the font 'MS Gothic'). It should be automatically installed for Vista users.
Restart the cgoban client. It should now display the asian fonts.
It should be there by default for up to date systems.

Download the fonts cyberbit.ttf
.
Create the directory $JAVA_HOME/lib/fonts/fallback
.
Link or copy the cyberbit.ttf fonts to that directory and restart cgoban.
